We made it to half term!!!

Ealing Fit Club

A huge well done to all Ealing Fit Club members for your incredible efforts over the past six weeks! You've shown dedication, strength, and a fantastic commitment to your fitness journeys.

To keep the momentum going during the upcoming half-term break, ( I'm cruising the seas like Jane Mcdonald this week) remember to prioritise movement. Explore local parks, go for family bike rides, and get creative with home workouts (online members make use of that Drive)

Here are five fresh ideas for you to get moving this half term :

* Geocaching Adventure: Combine technology with outdoor exploration! Geocaching is like a treasure hunt using GPS coordinates to find hidden containers (caches). Ealing has many hidden caches, offering a fun way to explore parks and discover new places. It gets everyone moving and working together. Download a geocaching app and start your adventure!

* Family Parkour Taster: Introduce your family to the exciting world of parkour (free running). Several local groups offer introductory sessions or workshops, teaching basic movements safely. This builds strength, coordination, and confidence. Check local listings for half-term programmes. (Always prioritise safety and proper instruction.)

* Ealing's Urban Nature Challenge: Create your own nature-themed challenge. Explore local parks like Walpole Park or Gunnersbury Park and give points for spotting specific birds, identifying trees, or even sketching natural elements. This encourages observation skills and appreciation for nature, all while getting some exercise. Pack a picnic to enjoy after your challenge!

* Interactive Fitness Games: Turn exercise into a game! Use fitness apps or online resources to find interactive workouts designed for families. Many involve following along with on-screen instructors or playing movement-based video games. This can be a fun way to stay active indoors if the weather isn't cooperating.

* Family Volunteering: Give back to the community while being active! Look for local volunteering opportunities suitable for families, such as park cleanups or helping at community gardens. This teaches valuable lessons about citizenship and provides a sense of accomplishment, alongside physical activity. Check with local community organisations for half-term projects.

Remember to check websites and local listings for specific events, programmes, and booking information. Have a fantastic and active half term and remember to listen to your body and have fun!
