Updated: Mar 29

Half term is just around the corner, and with the weather finally starting to warm up, it's the perfect opportunity to get your family up and active. But what are some fun and engaging fitness activities that you can do as a family in Ealing?

Here are five ideas to get you started.

1. Go for a family bike ride. Ealing has plenty of beautiful parks and cycle paths, making it the perfect place to explore on two wheels. Pack a picnic and some water bottles, and spend the day cycling through the green spaces of Ealing. You can even make it a scavenger hunt by giving each family member a list of things to find along the way.

2. If you don't ride why not learn to ride for the first time or as a family together with free cycle training tailored to suit individual abilities and goals. Cycle Training Cycle Training UK is based at different Ealing parks (see website). email info@cycletraining.co.uk, or visit. www.cycletraining.co.uk

3. Have a family sports day. Set up a mini Olympics in your backyard or local park by organizing fun games like egg-and-spoon races, three-legged races, and obstacle courses. You can even make medals and have a prize ceremony at the end.

4. Go for a family hike. Ealing has plenty of beautiful trails and nature reserves to explore. Pack a backpack with snacks and water, and spend the day hiking through the stunning countryside. You can even turn it into a learning experience by identifying different plants, animals, and birds along the way.

5. Have a dance party. Dancing is a great way to get up and moving, and it's also a fun and engaging activity for the whole family. Put on some upbeat music and have a dance party in your living room or backyard. You can even take turns being the DJ and choosing your favourite songs.

In conclusion, there are plenty of fun and engaging fitness activities that you can do as a family in Ealing this half term.

From cycling and hiking to yoga and dance parties, there's something for everyone. Why not get your family up and moving this holiday and have some fun together?
