Extra Blog Post! - 5 reasons to train outside

By Rachel Robinson

Our Outdoor classes resumes this time next week! On Friday 23rd April we are goiing to be outside! ! I love teaching the outdoor class!

Here are 5 top reasons from me about why outdoor exercise is so much fun!

1. The opportunity to train together

It’s a great opportunity to socialise (socially distanced of course!) and meet friends and training buddies in person.

Remember what it is like to see people in the flesh rather than on a screen! It’s a great chance to connect with others in person and share a laugh (or a moan!).

2. Challenge yourself

Outside exercise allows you to switch up your routine, incorporating different exercises and styles. It’s a great way to take your workout to the next level and keep things varied and interesting. More space available than your living room enables you build up speed, agility and quickness (SAQ).

3. Improve your mood

Training in the fresh air in a bright outdoor setting helps to naturally increase the serotonin levels, which can boost your mood and help you feel calm and focused. The exercise itself will produce endorphins which can improve your mood and reduce pain.

4. Top up your vitamin D

Out bodies create Vitamin D when sunlight hits our skin which offers immune boosting properties, as well as playing an important role in the maintenance of healthy bones, teeth and muscles.

5. Lowers blood pressure and reduces stress.

Physical activity outdoors has been shown to lower a person’s blood pressure and heart rate. It can feel less strenuous than indoor activity which can push you closer to your maximum performance. Push yourself to the limit and keep breaking records!
